Possibilities of Using the Data Pack series PLC FBs

• For secure backup PLC program in cases when the PLC is switched off for a long time (six months or longer)

• During the multiple update the PLC program in more PLC with the same program: Simply insert the FBs-PACK to the PLC, switch on the PLC and switch the PLC program is automatically played to the PLC. After switching off the PLC FBs-PACK removed and can be used to update the program in the next PLC. There is no need to connect PC with WinProladder. Actualization can make service personnel after short training. (The requirement is that the PLC was for such a procedure beforehand once configured – e.g. by supplier).FLASH memory used in FBs-PACK no backup battery needs. There is no risk that the PLC program is erases after a few years.

• In case of use higher number of the same PLC with the same program: Simply upload PLC program to the required amount of FBs-PACK. These PACKs insert to all the PLC and that's it all. PLC program after the each switch on each PLC reads to the SRAM and starts. At the same time it leads to increased reliability in the long-term view. Without requiring that the PLC program clears after a few years because the discharged battery backed SRAM. FLASH memory used in FBs-PACK, does not need any battery backup. PLC program is loaded in it permanently. Additionally, content of the FBs-PACK can lock by switch against unwanted overwriting (DIP Switch).
• During the debug a PLC program: PLC program can be edited in SRAM and if the modification will be right, it can be written to memory pack. From memory pack will be write after the each one PLC switch, on where then each time the PLC loaded into SRAM. If the PLC program modification fails, you can upload from the memory PACK memory the original version of the PLC program before the modification.

2. Logging and data saving, recipes

• Logging and archiving of measured values: The PLC program can use the instructions FUN161/FUN162  write/read individual records to / from FBs-PACK. (Note FUN161/FUN162 not supported in series PLC B1z.
• Saving and loading data (recipes): In FBs-PACK can save different settings for different registers external circumstances (the recipes) and PLC program is then loaded as needed depending on the specific situation.

Possibilities of Using the Data Pack series PLC B1/B1z

• For series B1/B1z FBs-PACK can be used only to load the PLC program. Series B1/B1z does not support functions FUN161/FUN162 for direct reading and writing of FBs-PACK.
