GSM-R3 Product Family - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Question: I used GSM RELAY for years without any problem, but suddenly SMS messages stopped attending (device does not answer).
This situation is mostly caused by the GSM operator´s General Conditions for the SIM card operation.
Please check your SIM card used in the device:
1. The credit on the SIM card (only for a pre-paid SIM card)
2. The expiration date of the SIM card (only for a pre-paid SIM card)
3. Other terms for using a SIM card (obligation to make a paid phone call)
4. Exceeding the limit set by tariffed SIM card.
Question: Which SIM card can I use in the GSM RELAY?
In GSM RELAY you can use the SIM card of any operator. The card must be activated (usually is enough to put the new SIM card into your mobile phone and make one phone call - usually to the infoline of an operator). On the SIM card is needed (possibly in a cooperation with the GSM operator) to provide:
• disabling the PIN
• turn off the voicemail and cancel all call redirection (necessary for the proper operation of the device)
• activate the "Prevention messages about an operator" (necessary for proper operation of the device)
• enough credit (pre-paid SIM cards)
Note 1: For prepaid SIM cards, it is important to keep an eye on the date when the card expires and timely recharge a credit or make a paid call.
Note 2: For tariff cards we recommended you to set limits on outgoing calls and SMS messages at a operator.
Question: What GSM signal is needed for the operation of GSM RELAY?
As an indication of GSM signal just use your own mobile phone (with the SIM card of the GSM operator). The mobile phone should show at least one or two lines of the GSM signal at the point where the GSM RELAY 3 will be installed.
GSM-R3-DIN is supplied with an antenna GSM-ANT05S. In case of problems with the GSM signal it is possible to order a different type of GSM antenna with higher gain, for example, GSM-ANT01S. In case of problems – e.g. outside of the city, you can consider using a directional antenna GSM-ANT07S.
Question: How many temperature controllers are in the GSM-R3 device?
In the GSM RELAY 3 each output has its own temperature controller. You can decide in the device configuration, from which temperature input will be the output regulated.
Note: The previous series GSM Relay GSM-R1-ZAS and GSM-RELE2-DIN had only one temperature controller.
Question: The wires to the temperature sensor GSM-C-T2 is too short. Can I extend it?
Temperature sensors GSM-C-T2 is supplied with different lengths of connecting wires.
There are also sensors with a length 5 m GSM-C-T2.5 and 10 m GSM-C-T2.10.
Note: If necessary, you can adjust the length of wires. Longer wires have a certain resistance, which affects the measured value. (16 ? represents 1 °C).
